Job Description The Sales & Business Development Specialist is responsible for selling products to new and established accounts within an assigned area to meet or exceed sales and gross margin targets. The Sales & Business Development Specialist provides merchandising, training and other sales support to the outside sale staff and works closely with Inside Sales. In this position also includes, learning branch operations, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment and customer service to provide a future career path within the organization. Responsibilities: Meet established sales and gross margin goals while ensuring customer satisfaction Travel to accounts to make regular sales calls to develop relationships and sell products and Company developed product programs, represent the Company with integrity and professionalism, provide service to customers, and build effective relationships with store personnel Educate and communicate the Company’s value proposition to targeted customers in order to drive loyalty, satisfaction, sales and service Develop and maintain regular communications in a cooperative and professional manner with customers and all levels of staff Conduct sales presentations and product knowledge training sessions, including making joint calls and presentations with suppliers Review customer’s inventory levels to determine needs, assist with orders and provide on-site inventory management Participate in determining market strategies and goals for each account and product Maintain proper stock level by physically stocking products on the sales floor Review shipping and receiving documents with local store personnel Partner with accounts by ensuring that products are displayed appropriately with proper signage, marketing materials and favorable shelf placement. Maintain neat and clean product areas. Replace damaged, missing or out-of-stock signs and merchandising materials Launch promotional campaigns through product placement, signage, marketing materials and training staff Act as a liaison between the Company and the customer to resolve product, pricing, inventory and other issues Provide support for the Company’s outside sales staff as needed Communicate territory and account activity and other relevant and competitive market information through CRM Represent the Company at customer promotional and product events, industry and contractor events and trade and home shows Research and develop lists of potential customers and follow-up on potential leads. Prospect for new business with existing and new customers Identify sales and product opportunities and communicate to supervisor along with current market information. Submit weekly call reports to supervisor. Maintain current knowledge of products, including technical information and specifications Attend and participate in sales and training meetings Build, install or reset product displays, shelving or racking when needed Learn all aspects of the business branch operations including order fulfillment, shipping & receiving and customer service.
